The Development Manager Ltd. were initially contracted by A+, under the Association of Learning Providers' Learning Innovation Grant funding, to manage the development of a Managed Learning Environment. This brief has now been extended beyond the life of ALP LIG funding.

TDM are also leading the Devon and Cornwall Training Provider Network project - also with the support of ALP LIG funding. TDM have now created a network of 20 "Mahoodle" (i.e. SSO Mahara + Moodle) networked platforms and are continuing to provide capital development fot the central "College" hub site: http://thetrainingprovidercollege.com

Welcome To the A+ VLE

Accountancy Plus have made the decision to develop up a Virtual Learning Environment based on the Moodle platform. Moodle is a Free Open Source Software (FOSS) application that has already established itself as the field leader platform for e-learning and looks set to dominate the online learning world for some time hence.

TDM have voluntarily piloted two other Open Source platforms for A+: a Corporate documentation repository based upon the Alfresco platform and an e-Portfolio system based upon another Open Source product known as Mahara.

About the project

The Development Manager Ltd. will be actively supporting the Accountancy Plus team to create an e-Learning environment and interactive communications portal for their staff and learners. The environment will be built predominantly, but not uniquely, upon Open Source Software products.
